Thanks Tobias for your answer.
The Swift IM is now a proprietary software, no opensource development since 2020-01-09:
About Spectrum IM:
- A recent ticket: https://github.com/SpectrumIM/spectrum2/issues/512
- An old PR has been never merged/finished: https://github.com/SpectrumIM/spectrum2/pull/470#issuecomment-3218396209
A long time ago, Spectrum IM was at the top but now, we are in 2025, Slidge has taken the place...
Note: One author of Swift IM was one maintainer of Psi IM project. The Psi IM project always exists since 24 years old (2001-07-07) and the latest Psi+ version has been released few days ago, it is the moment to update in Debian? I have done a previous e-mail about it. Any help is welcome.

Are they any specific reasonse beside "upstream ceased developement"
that you think swift-im should be retired, like actual problems with
it?
/me has packagd swift-im as dependendy of spectrum2, and as I am using
spectrum2 as a irc/xmpp bridge, so I have plans to continue maintaining
both (and libcommuni too).

(That's seems like a completly different product and orthogonal to
the swift-im we're talking about.
