I prefer to not think more about that problem.
I would be happy with having ZFS included as a source-code DKMS package
in Debian.

There is a lot of value on having ZoL included in Debian even if the
Debian installer don't supports it.

You can always use ext4 for the rootfs partition and ZFS for the rest of
the data partitions, or with a bit of sysadmin-foo you can deploy ZFS in
the rootfs from a live usb/cd. Is not that hard.

So, not having ZFS support in D-I is not a problem for me.

Anyway, maybe someone someday finds a smart way of avoiding shipping a
binary module in D-I and having ZFS support on it at the same time, or
manages to convince the D-I team to create an alternative image media
with more space where ZoL can be built at run-time.

But for that to happen, ZFS as a source-code DKMS package has to be
first accepted in Debian.
