I used dkms 2.6.1-4 from buster.
Hmm. Yes, configure part is slow, and unfortunately serial
due how the autoconf works in general.
Maybe it was a configure indeed, not the actual compilation,
I didn't check full command lines in `top` to see what was
being actually compiled by `cc`.
I think you might be right then.
