I can reproduce this on Sid amd64.

And this set of options also seems to be already minimal to trigger
this issue.

Correct, I can not reproduce this on Stretch amd64 with zsh 5.3.1-4.

Thanks for that detail.

I can also confirm that this is reproducible with zsh compiled as of
the current git HEAD (commit 947e26fe).

Will forward your bug report to upstream.
