[Python-apps-team] Bug#976702: vdirsyncer: crashes with runtime error

Package: vdirsyncer
Version: 0.16.7-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

After the update, vdirsyncer crashes during syncing with the following error:

> error: Unknown error occured for calendar/calendar: 'xml.etree.ElementTree.Element' object has no attribute 'getiterator'

I assume an older xml etree interface was used that broke when updating the
python version to 3.9.
