As the sysadmin of this service, I'd be happy with this.

The only things I'd add to your list of actions is that we'd
eventually make buildinfo.d.n redirect to buildinfos.d.n.
Before everything, though, we might simply disable the virtual machine
and replace it with a static HTML page along the lines of, "We plan to
shut this down, so if this has broken something, please let us know."
Just in case.
Ah, one last question: should we archive all the data somewhere? It's
essentially an enormous PostgreSQL database.
