Hey all -

Have compiled and installed SANE 1.0.5, both frontends/backends;
xscanimage seems to work with my HP 6300c (SCSI) scanner (though I haven't
really gotten it fully configured yet). Anyhow, I can't get xsane-0.79 to
compile. I deleted the old version (0.71) and did a make distclean, then
./configure, which went fine.  Then:

As I said above, ./configure found no problems with any of the GTK stuff.
The whole setup was working OK with my older HP scanner (a 6200c, which
I've moved to another box) and SANE 1.0.4/xsane 0.71. When I set up the
new scanner, this setup no longer worked, so...here I am, upgrading.

Any help with the above would be nice.

The machine is running Mandrake 8.0 with 2.4.6 custom-compiled kernel.

TIA - Bob
