I am trying to set-up my Genius ColorPage Vivid 3XE on RedHat 8.0. I
already have sane 1.0.8 and xsane installed. I was trying to set it up
via the steps outlined in "Linux scanner how-to. For beginners." (I
forgot the URL).

The latter part of the result of 'cat /proc/bus/usb/devices' is the
following:

T: Bus=01 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 2 Spd=12 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 1.10 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=0458 ProdID=2017 Rev= 1.00
S: Product=600dpi USB Scanner
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=c0 MxPwr=496mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 2 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=ff Prot=ff Driver=(none)
E: Ad=81(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
E: Ad=02(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms

Thus, if I understand it correctly, the vendor ID is '0458', the product
ID is '2017'. Are these correct values?

The tutorial also says that I have to change the file
/etc/sane.d/epson.conf to contain only one line: 'usb /dev/usbscanner'
However, I cannot see a *.conf file for Genius scanners. What *.conf
file shall I use?

I appreciate any help in setting up my scanner. :)
