Hello,
could somebody please help me. I have a plustec 19200 scanner.
sane-find-scanner gives me the following output:
sane-find-scanner: found SCSI scanner " SCAN19200 1.06" at
device /dev/scanner
sane-find-scanner: found SCSI scanner " SCAN19200 1.06" at
device /dev/sg3
sane-find-scanner: found SCSI scanner " SCAN19200 1.06" at
device /dev/sgd
/dev/sgd and /dev/scanner are symlinked to /dev/sg3
when I run scanimage I get the following output:
scanimage: no SANE devices found
and in the /var/log/massages the following message appears for all
devices (0) - (15):
Jan 31 23:25:03 localhost kernel: scanner.c: open_scanner(0):
Unable to access minor data
I am using RH 7.2, kernel 2.4.9.
dmx3191d and scanner module are modload-ed
scanimage -V :
scanimage (sane-backends) 1.0.7-beta2; backend version 1.0.7
same problem with earlier version
cat /proc/scsi/scsi gives following output:
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 03 Lun: 00
Vendor: PLEXTOR Model: CD-ROM PX-40TS Rev: 1.05
Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 04 Lun: 00
Vendor: TOSHIBA Model: CD-ROM XM-6401TA Rev: 1015

Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 06 Lun: 00
Vendor: Model: SCAN19200 Rev: 1.06
Type: Scanner ANSI SCSI revision: 02
I do not know the meaning of "Unable to access minor data".
I am sure some small configuration is missing. But no man page or
the internet could help me.
I hope somebody has an idea.
Thanks,
Robert
