If this is all and you don't get any lines like:
[snapscan] sane_snapscan_init: Snapscan backend version 1.4.8
either you SANE installaion is completely defective (no libraries
found at all) or you have disabled "snapscan" in dll.conf.
Try again with

SANE_DEBUG_DLL=255 scanimage -L

This will show where the dll backend looks for the SANE backends. 

You don't have "/usr/local/lib/sane" in /etc/ld.so.conf? If you have,
remove this line.
