Hi there,

in general I agree to include the CANON devices to the Plustek 
backend. The only problem currently is, that I do not have a device
to test with AND that the code for supporting CIS is not included...
(shouldn't be that complicated I guess)

The other stuff should work more or less, as the support for
HP2200C, HP2100C, UMAX3400, the Mustek Bearpaws and the EPSON1250
shows - sure not all of them are prefectly but a kind of start.

The major problem is, that it seems to be easier to adopt the
usbsnoopy output than to understand the Plustek code and 
merge it with the National Semiconductor sources (which already
supports the CANON 650 out of the box - okay Windoze box :-(((((( )

After looking at the ini files I have, I might be able to provide
a patch for the Plustek backend to support at least the 650 and 656
if there's anybody out there who's interessted in that. I also need
somebody to test...

Some tests for the 670 have failed but they where not really
intensive...
