I got the entry in /etc/hotplug/usb.distmap BUT this did not help me!
I assume this only gets into action when you really switch the scanner
on/off during runtime, not when it is switched on along with the box
from one 'multiswitcher' or when you reboot the machine leaving the
scanner on juice. (??!??)
Anyway it's about time to thank you for your help :-)) !!
