[sane-devel] Code freeze and second beta snapshot for sane-backends 1.0.12

Hi,

Since today, we are in code freeze. Only fixes of grave bugs that
render a backend completely unusable or break compilation and
documentation updates are accepted. If you are in doubt if a change
should go into CVS now, please ask on sane-devel.

Planned date of release: 2003-05-25

There is a snapshot of the current CVS at
ftp://ftp.mostang.com/pub/sane/ (sane-backends-1.0.12-pre2.tar.gz).

Please test on all available platforms. I've tested compilation on a
variety of Linux, HP-UX, Tru64 and BSD platforms but can' test actuall
scanning.

I'll append the NEWS file for 1.0.12.
