Ok, so it's detected correctly.

Usually that's a problem with the kernel or hardware. Before anything
else, unplug and replug your scanner.

If I really proposed that for your scanner, I must have been stoned.
Try scanning with scanimage first:

SANE_DEBUG_GT68XX=255 scanimage >image.pnm 2>log

And show us the log (if it doesn't work).
