Hi,

	This part is for Henning:
Sane-find-scanner finds scanner only at libusb and rmmod scanner did not help - I got the same `device busy' all over again.

	Bertrik's part:
My libusb version is 1.6a-45 so it is not old. These are the messages from /var/log/messages:

-------------this is entry when I unpluged the scanner----------------
Nov 15 21:45:46 brain kernel: usb.c: USB disconnect on device 00:07.2-1 address 2
------------now I pluged it back again--------------------------------
Nov 15 21:46:11 brain kernel: usb.c: USB device 3 (vend/prod 0x3f0/0x405) is not claimed by any active driver.
Nov 15 21:46:19 brain kernel: usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
Nov 15 21:46:24 brain kernel: usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
Nov 15 21:46:24 brain kernel: usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame# 1678
------------ now I entered `modprobe scanner'------------------------
Nov 15 21:47:32 brain kernel: usb.c: registered new driver usbscanner
Nov 15 21:47:32 brain kernel: scanner.c: 0.4.10:USB Scanner Driver
------------ starting xscanimage-------------------------------------------
Nov 15 21:48:23 brain resmgr[1188]: accepted connection from user root
Nov 15 21:48:23 brain xscanimage: resmgr: server response code 200
Nov 15 21:48:23 brain resmgr[1188]: disconnect from root
Nov 15 21:48:23 brain resmgr[1188]: accepted connection from user root
Nov 15 21:48:23 brain xscanimage: resmgr: server response code 200
Nov 15 21:48:23 brain resmgr[1188]: disconnect from root
Nov 15 21:48:23 brain kernel: usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame# 1721
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everything I did (modprobe & xscanimage) I did as root.
The answer was `device busy'.
I hope this would put some light om my problem.
