More input plese: Which version of sane-backends are you using?

What's the output of sane-find-scanner and

SANE_DEBUG_GT68XX=255 scanimage -L

(try both as root).

By the way: the argument of the -d option is a SANE device name, not a
device file (e.g. gt68xx:/libusb:001:003) but it shouldn't be
necessary anyway.
