The scanner is currently not supported by the SnapScan backend (to be
honest I didn't yet know it existed).
The USB IDs of the scanner have to be added to snapscan.conf.
Additionally the ID string(s) of the scanner have to be added in
snapscan.h, if it behaves very differently from other scanners the
sourcecode needs changes, too.
Can you provide more info? What would be helpful is the output from
lspci, the output from "acerfirm -q" before firmware upload and the
output from "acerfirm -v <firmware_filename>"
You can get the latest version of acerfirm from
http://snapscan.sf.net/acerfirm
Running "acerfirm -q" will give you a hint on which firmware file to
use. See http://snapscan.sf.net for more details on firmware etc.
