Henning, and list,
My hp IIcx is scanning again. All of my problems stemmed from dirty
mirrors
and lens. Turns out that if the scanner can't calibrate then the lamps are
NOT turned on during the scan pass. The large scsi timeout is not
needed anymore
because the IIcx is calibrating correctly. Seems to work better than I
can ever
remember it working with any backend and scsi card that I throw at it.
Currently 1.0.14pre2 and sym53c825a. This post by
Bob Blaylock in 1999 put me on the right track:
