There is no separate release of the snapscan backend planned. It will=20
be released together with all other backends in the next SANE backend=20
release (which is not scheduled either). The current version of the=20
backend is always available in SANE's CVS (it contains a few bugfixes=20
for the 1670 but no major improvements).

"Basic", as far as I'm concerned. I currently don't have much time to=20
work on the backend, plus I don't have a Perfection 1670 to test=20
things.
