[sane-devel] Problems with SANE 1.0.13 and HP ScanJet 5300C

I had some success after installing SANE 1.0.14 and removing the kernel module 
hpusbscsi. The scanner is now responding, but it is not scanning properly. 
When I start a scan with SCANIMAGE or XSANE, the scanner makes some strange 
piercing noise that let me turn off the power. Do you have any idea what to 
do?
