it might be possible to tweak the plustek backend to support this scanner.
I had some request upon that, but I got no test device so far and buying one
just for fun is too expensive...

Oh - please go ahead, try to add support on that device. You might start with
it, bypassing the calibration and concentrate on thr motor/feeding control
