what is sloxIO=0? Try slowIO=0 or better try
options pt_drv mode=2
the other stuff is default!

Well the garbage problem has been discusse a thousand times
here - please use the search function.

That's pretty useless. For the kernel module, you need
to enable its debug messages - see build script.
For the backend you need SANE_DEBUG_PLUSTEK_PP=30
