Thank you for your response.

I have to miss something, but I can't see any search
function in 'lists.alioth...'

I've uninstalled/installed the version 1.0.16 of
sane-backends to be sure to have good utilities and
good libraries.

I've passed the test from testsuite ; it asked me to
install pnm library in spite of security problems
described in 'PROBLEMS'. I did it and have always the
garbages.

I saw the tiff files made by scanimage are 'big
endian' but I can't know it is wrong or not.

I know, it's boring to see always the same questions
coming back, but I really don't know what I have to
do.

So if you know about the garbages, or about search
function I'll be very recognizing
