Unfortunately I'm about to give up and go back to Windows. I'm so tired
of fighting Linux and/or sane to get my scanner working. It works fine
one day and the next it doesn't. If it's permission problems then they
really need to rethink how permissions are granted as so far it's been a
real headache.

Just in case I'm loosing anybody I'm again having problems with sane.
I've posted it already in this thread so I won't do it again. I'm just
tired of messing with this. It's become a big nightmare. People can
say what they want, but I've never had this many problems setting up
hardware in Windows.

I truly want to stick with Linux, but I've got to have this scanner
working reliably and consistently. I can't reconfigure permission each
time I have to scan. I don't know who's fault it is and I don't really
care. At the end of the day if the scanner doesn't work then sane and
Linux (or the Linux distro) are going to be to blame. The inevitable
outcome is me switching back to Windows. That outcome sux to say the least.
