Is this correct? I have an Epson 2450 Photo and have been having
problems with it ever since I started using a 2.6 kernel. I particularly
miss having a batch scan capability if a firewire card sorts the problem
I'll go for it.

Ditto. Here is a posting I made to the mailing list some time ago

The scanner still exhibits similar symptoms.

Is this a libusb problem or sane?

Not the case on my system. The 2450 Photo is attached to a rather old
desktop that only has a USB 1.1 interface.
I also noticed on the Sane Supported Scanners page
http://www.sane-project.org/cgi-bin/driver.pl?manu=epson&model=2450&bus=usb&v=&p=
that the Epson backend supports the 2450 and the Epkowa backend the 2450
Photo. Is this just a typo? Should I instead use the Epkowa backend
without the firewire interface mentioned above.
