[sane-devel] Mustek/Paragon MFS-8000SP oddity

sane 1.0.17 on Slackware-current, Mustek/Paragon MFS-8000SP attached to 
Symbios Logic 53C810A, active termination.

Device scan, results are ok, but it is slow due to _how_ it works:
The scan bar proceeds about 10mm, then jumbs back 5mm, scans 10mm, jumps back 
5mm, etc etc all the way over the document.

So a 300dpi scan takes over 3 minutes.

In Windows with official drivers it walks through the scan in one big sweep, 
thus noticably faster. 

How come?
