[sane-devel] Problems sharing a Stylus CX4000 on a network

I finally found a solution in the Ubuntu forums
(http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=199147).

I had to change the group in '/etc/inetd.conf' to 'scanner':

   sane-port  stream  tcp  nowait  saned.scanner  /usr/local/sbin/saned saned

Now the scanner gets detected on the remote host, both as super and normal user.
