Hi Jay,

Right now, I'm deep into writing a test application (that doesn't use
SANE) for the GL843 controller. It will do simple register and bulk
transfers and move the scanner head. It should be on github within a
week, and will be a base for the rest of the driver development.

But after that, there's a ton of work reverse engineering the scanner,
like configuring the hardware for various color modes and resolutions,
calibration, mapping the size and location of the platen and
transparency adapter, writing the actual driver ...

So, how about this plan:

When the test app is posted to github, I'll take a break from
development a while to give you a chance to catch up. When you've
found an interesting subsystem to reverse engineer or write code for,
you just let me know and I'll start working on some other part. Then
we just move on from there.
