That's great :) The firmware loading and get_button_status() are
identical to Epson 3170. Hopefully the rest of the protocol is similar
enough too. I will try your code and see if it works for me.

I found the "1B 13" command which returns the string "EPSON  
GT-9400         1.07" in my case.
