Wrong. The pause and backtracking are a scanner to host issue.

Look at /dev/bus/usb/BBB/DDD instead, /proc/bus/usb has been
deprecated for quite some time now.

It would be nice, unfortunately, right now, that doesn't fit into the
SANE API.
