[sane-devel] /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lsane HELP Please

ld looks in all the standard library paths for libsane.so, generally
finding it in /usr/lib/libsane.so

Does that file exist on your machine? If not, then I would re-install
the sane-backends, sane-backends-libs, and sane-backends-devel rpms
that came with your distro.
