I sent Nicolas a complete copy of the scan log. It is a little long to
post here in its entirety.
Leaving out the parts that (I think) aren't relevant, it is as follows:
[a lot of finding USB devices that aren't the MX850]
> libusb/darwin.c usb_os_find_devices: Found USB device on bus
> 0x-100663296x: 0x-98566144x
> libusb/darwin.c usb_os_find_devices: Found 002-04a9-172c-00-00 on
> 007 at location 0x-98566144x
> libusb/darwin.c usb_os_find_devices: Complete
> usb_os_open: 04a9:172c
> libusb/darwin.c usb_control_msg (device: 002-04a9-172c-00-00): 128 6
> 512 0 0x7fff5fbfe750 8 1000
> libusb/darwin.c usb_control_msg (device: 002-04a9-172c-00-00): 128 6
> 512 0 0x100109260 108 1000
