[sane-devel] Network Settings

Not an expert nor do I know much about Ubuntu but did you check 
/etc/sane.d/net.conf on the clients? If your using dhcp it's possible 
the server got a new IP?

There is a nice site dedicated to setting this up and I use as reference 
as well.
