[sane-devel] Linux-update: scanner no more recognized

Hi there,

this problem does not seem to be specific to opensuse.
There is a bug report agianst ubuntu stating basically the same:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/simple-scan/+bug/953221

While this mail will not directly solve the regression,
it might bring together more people interested in the issue,
so maybe you can work more effectively.
