[sane-devel] [epkowa] scangui can't connect to scanner

Hi,

I got a bug-report about failure to open an Epson network scanner with 
scangui/skanlite. 

The scanning works OK with Skanlite if started with the device-name as a 
parameter, but if the device parameter is omitted and the device selection 
dialog is used, the opening of the device fails. The device dialog searches 
for devices and when only one device is found it automatically tries to open 
that device.

The debug logs of the failing sessions always end in:
"ipc.c:87: [epkowa][M] write failed: Broken pipe"
