[sane-devel] Canonscan N 650U LIDE Scanner does not scan but makes terrible noise

Hi,

Just a comment from my playing with LIDE30. Try different USB cables, assuming we are not talking about PP scanners?

I found out getting a short cable, like 1foot (molex brand) with conductor writing on plastic as 22awg/C2 gives better performance with no noise yet but I've still to play. Just in case this is actually a power issue, not that I want to suggest there is nothing else wrong. The cables I got off ebay at long lengths didn't work at all. Unfortunately the LIDE30 does not have an external power option, perhaps others in their ranges do.

Regards,

dc
