If you mean

        GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.ColorManager.Failed: property match 'Serial'='sane:plustek:libusb:003:004' does not exist

then that is harmless. Colord [8] is a daemon making it possible to
manages colors between input and output devices.

I do not see any interesting either in the Simple Scan log file.

Interesting. Thank you for confirming this.

You can also use Simple Scan for that if that is easier under Fedora.

Until someone more knowledgeable than me has time to deal with this,
that is my last hope to find some clue where something goes wrong.

It is very strange that the bug shows up after two scans.

Oh, last thing that comes to my mind. Does the problem depend also on
the resolution? If you take a higher resolution, does the problem start
to occur earlier or later?

These are just guesses. So please do not have too high hopes.
