[sane-devel] I'm in MacOS X, I can scan just fine using command line but when it comes to mounting the device in the UI

I'm in MacOS X, I can scan just fine using command line
---
$ scanimage -L
device `canon_dr:libusb:250:009' is a CANON DR-9050C scanner
---
but when it comes to mounting the device in the UI I'm lost...

There are no scanners to choose from when I try to add a scanner in System Preferences -> Printers and scanners

Import from Scanner greyed out:
