OK, I think I've got it. For some reason the scanner is not happy with the default resolution of 150dpi. I can use 100, 200, 300 and I get a correct image. So, for the benefit of anyone else trying to use this scanner you need to have option disable-gamma-table option resolution 100 in your avision.conf config file. Simon
