Thanks!
I've built master now, and scanimage says:
tingo at kg-core1$ frontend/scanimage -L
device `genesys:libusb:000:004' is a PLUSTEK OpticFilm 7600i (v1)
flatbed scanner

For completeness, sane-find-scanner output:
tingo at kg-core1$ ./tools/sane-find-scanner -v -v
This is sane-find-scanner from sane-backends 1.0.29-614-g9aad35503

<This USB chip looks like a GL842 (result from sane-backends

found USB scanner (vendor=0x07b3 [Plustek INC], product=0x0c3b [Film
Scanner ], chip=GL842) at libusb:000:004

So now I just need to install sane-backends, and find out which
program to use for scanning my photo negatives.
