[sane-devel] Problems with net preview scan

Hi,

I asked on IRC before, but after 3 days only other questions without any 
answers to it, I don't think it's still the right place.

I switched to net instead of direct scanning while integrating scanbm. I did 
this a bit different than the docs said, so I can start scanning-apps without 
giving them a different config location.

So the situation is now, that scanning works like expected, but when I start a 
preview-scan in xsane, it sometimes just sounds like it is about to start 
scanning (I would quess positioning at the start), but then just nothing 
happens until the timeout is reached. After that, I always get I/O errors 
until I un- and replug the device.

To get sure I, of course, deactivated scanbm and started saned directly but, 
as I expected, that doesn't change anything.

I tried with setting the debug-level higher. 1 and 2 didn't give me anything, 
and 3 gives me a lot of transferred Data when it works, and just a scan 
started when it doesn't work, so I can't find the difference. On the serverside, 
I get in addition the messages from genesys, but if the scan doesn't happen, I 
get nothing from that.

Btw. it' a HP Scanjet G2410
