I have now tested somewhat further without the TPU for now, and I have
hit a few problems.
I started with ridiculously high resolutions, and hit various crashes.
I had to restart both the scanner and xsane. I attach (I hope the list
permits attachments) a screen dump of one such. Of course, one
speculates about a buffer overflow or such, but obviously that is mere
speculation.
I then reduced the area scanned and worked up through resolutions,
so far up to 9600dpi, and I am glad to say they generally worked.
But there was one occasion when I cancelled a scan half way through
(using the [cancel] button) and that crashed. IIRC with "Error during
device I/O".
So mainly working. Normally, I would not use such high resolutions
(apart from film which I have yet to test).
I am planning to test with the TPU next.
Thanks again for all the work.
