[sane-devel] Proposal to remove kernel build of plustek_pp

Hi,
There has been a proposal to remove the kernel module building 
capability of the plustek_pp backend:

Due to the following recent change related to non-portable port i/o 
functions:

https://gitlab.com/sane-project/backends/-/merge_requests/521

... the kernel driver version cannot now be built.

Just to be clear, the backend is still buildable however.
So this would likely involve the removal of build files in doc/plustek, 
update of the sane-plustek_pp man page and possibly some code changes to 
plustek_pp.

Any objections?
