[sane-devel] Canon MF650C Series support?

Hi,

I'm using Ubuntu 23.04 with scanimage (sane-backends) 1.1.1-debian; 
backend version 1.1.1 installed.

I got a new Canon MF657Cdw, and running scanimage -L gives the message

[08:26:07.338607] [bjnp] add_scanner: Scanner MF650C Series is not 
supported, model is unknown! Please report upstream

What can be done? Should I download the latest source from Git, 
recompile, and see if that works? Maybe one of the existing backends work?
