Greetings sane-devel,

I recently acquired a Hewlett-Packard ScanJet Pro 3000 s2 sheetfed scanner
and am setting it up with a Raspberry Pi running Debian. My goal is to
configure the scanner's physical buttons to trigger a workflow that
generates a PDF.

Since this model is not currently supported by SANE, I worked on adding
support for it. By analyzing the Windows (WIA) driver, I determined that it
is an Avision-based device. I have developed a patch for the existing
avision backend that adds support for this scanner, including the scan and
cancel buttons.

The patches are currently based on the master branch of the GitLab
repository, but I can rebase them onto another branch if preferred. Please
let me know the best way to submit these, or if there is a contribution
guide I should follow beyond the website's contributing page.

Additionally, please let me know if there is a policy regarding AI-assisted
submissions, as I used Claude to help analyze the driver. I'm willing to
test and maintain support for the Hewlett-Packard ScanJet Pro 3000 s2
driver going forward. I'm willing to test for and maintain support for the
Hewlett-Packard ScanJet Pro 3000 s2 driver going forward, or at least until
this scanner stops functioning.

Thanks,
Erik
