I now had a closer look, and besides packaging Beaker itself (with 
whatever java dependencies it has), it needs these packaged:

  * r-cran-devtools r-cran-rjsonio
  * python3-pyaml (not sure why not also python-yaml)
  * iruby

Julia exist in Debian but FTBFS on armhf - Graham has looked into that.

Beaker fails to load nodejs - perhaps need patching to for the infamous 
"node" → "nodejs" file naming (see package nodejs-legacy).
