[Soc-coordination] about Debian for NAS devices(GSoC 2008)

Hi,

I'm a student from China. I'm very interested in the
project of Improving support of Debian on NAS devices, and I want to
attend it.

Is there still any other requirement? Such as must I be familiar with the hardware  related to the project? 

And
"more information on my project plan" means a detailed schedule?
