Students are allowed (indeed, actively encouraged) to continue to work
on their projects after today.  But the evaluation of their projects
which the mentors fill in for Google should only be based on work done
before the deadline.

There's nothing specific to be done before the deadline - code uploads
should open at the end of this week, as the timeline says:
