OK, let me rephrase that as "you shouldn't ANY autotools stuff".

cysignals is a Python project which happens to have a ./configure 
script. It is NOT in any way an autotools project. When you think of it 
that way, cysignals shouldn't be harder to build than any other Python 
project.
