Offlineimap 6.3.3-rc1 hangs

Sad to hear that, and it is definitely not what should be happening.
Perhaps you can run a) singlethreaded and b) with debug
output to get more information on what is happening (or not).

-1 (for singlethreaded) and
-d imap,maildir (for debug output) and
-l log.file (to save the log in a file)

That having said, try even the new 6.3.3-rc1 which uses a different imap
library.
